The Thoracic Immunobiology Laboratory at Washington University in St Louis is an NIH-funded laboratory run by Andrew Gelman, PhD, the Jacqueline G. and William E. Maritz Professor of Surgery, Pathology and Immunology, and Daniel Kreisel, MD, PhD, the G. Alexander Patterson, MD/Mid-America Transplant Endowed Distinguished Chair in Lung Transplantation, and Alexander Krupnick, MD, surgical director of lung transplant and an associate professor of surgery at the University of Virginia.
In existence since 2005, the laboratory studies multiple aspects of thoracic immunology ranging from the alloimmune response after lung transplantation to pulmonary innate immunity and tumor immunology. The laboratory performs basic scientific investigations as well as translational studies directly related to patient care.
